Recital by Martyna Zaniewska

Martyna Faustyna Zaniewska is a vocalist from Białystok whose music merges tradition with modernity and restores the memory of the city’s rich history. Her musical career spans a variety of genres, from blues to pop. As a member of the blues band Formation Fru, she performed at the Rawa Blues Festival in Katowice. Together with the duo McMahon & Kamiński, she recorded the album “Where Will You Go?”, which is praised in the blues community. She took part in the projects “Skazani na bluesa” and “Antologia Polskiego Bluesa”. In 2015, thanks to an artistic scholarship from the President of Białystok, she released a solo album “Sen”, combining elements of soul, jazz, R’n’B and funk with electronics. In 2020, she created the music and film project “Miasteczko”, based on the pre-war song “Białystok, miasteczko me”. The song, written by Abraham Szewach and Jeremias Ciganeri, was arranged and recorded anew with the help of Marek Kubik. The music video was created in cooperation with Krzysztof Kiziewicz. The project aimed to restore the memory of pre-war Białystok and of its multicultural heritage.
